presented by Suzuki, the specialist for small cars.
One second of film consists of 24 or 25 still images, called frames. When these frames are set in motion by a projector, they run so fast, our eyes and brain aren’t able to follow and keep them seperated.
This simle physical process simulates movement. This is how film works. Of course, with only one second of film, you can hardly show any movement at all. Nor you can tell a story. But you can run a narration with 25 frames, if you show them longer then only 1/25 second.
We now give you 500 frames. Take your time for each image, or use them off in 20 seconds. But use them wisely. Cause it’s time for the Big in Small Academy to shout out loud for our talent contest!
We went to international short film festivals in Paris, Clermont-Ferrand and Porto. We met plenty of new potential film makers. We saw many, many, many movies about little things in life
… and
we kicked off our first competition at the festival in Clermont-Ferrand, and we’re still looking forward to your smashing entries! Tell us a story based on a small thing in life. Find this aspect in your existing film material or shoot something new and bring it in!
Upload your clip on YouTube and send the link to
biginsmall10@googlemail.com.
Additionally, all entries take part in the Suzuki brand channel contest. That means: One entry but two chances to win great prices like iPods or a Suzuki Alto and – of cause – the glory!
Feel free to do whatever your creativity and skills lead you to.
The winner of the 500-frames-film competition will be announced on March 14th, at the festival in Tampere/Finland.
But it won´t be the end of it…Tampere is also the place where we do the next call for entries. So, watch out for the new competition. But first of all:
We´re looking forward to receiving your 500-frames-film!
